After the collapse of the soviet union, the country is becoming self confident and strengthens it's relationship to Western European countries - the Russian Federation is of course not very happy with that. Even a trouble-free immigration without the need to obtain a visa before is now possible. Ukraine - that means solid meals, the pulsating business metropole of Kiev, the romantic town of Lemberg and pure nature on the paninsula of Crimea.

Die Doppelmonarchie Österreich-Ungarn war einst das drittgrößte Land Europas und eine prägende Kulturnation. Aus der "guten alten Kaiserzeit" sind noch heute viele historische Gebäude erhalten. Weite Steppen, Büffel, Csarda-Musik und Franz Liszt charakterisieren das Land. Die Hauptstadt Budapest ist neben dem Plattensee ("Balaton"), dem "ungarischen Meer", eine der Hauptattraktionen des Landes.

Irland, die "grüne Insel" besteht aus der Republik Irland und Nordirland, welches zum Vereinigten Königreich gehört. Mein Kurzaufenthalt vermittelte mir einen guten Eindruck der Stadt Dublin, bevor es weiter nach Portstewart in Nordirland ging, wo ich das Studentenleben der University of Ulster kennen lernte und in einem Tagesausflug Londonderry erkundete.
